Our Story

How it all started...

Harvest started with humble beginnings in 1991. Our first meeting was as a Bible Study that quickly grew to meeting in the basement of the Home Savings and Loan Bank. We then moved to the Wig-Wum and then to the Wapakoneta Middle School Auditorium. We remained in the school for 8 years. No matter the location, Harvest was and is focused on helping people find a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. It has been our goal to help individuals find and follow Jesus with their whole life. We believe a key to that is reaching children, teens, and their families with the Good News about Jesus.

Expanding the vision...

In 1997 we moved to our current location, which is across the street from the Wapakoneta High School. God has continued to bless Harvest by allowing us to reach more people with the love of Jesus. We are focused on 4 key parts for each believers life. Up - Surrendering to God, Down - Growing in Jesus, In - Serving people with in our Church, Out - Serving our Community. We believe by do these well, we can effectively make God known in our Community.

Where we are headed...

Our Primary focus is to equip each follower of Jesus to make a difference in their community.  It is the responsiblity of each believer to help people see how much Jesus loves them. We need show our neighbors and friends that Jesus desires to have a personal relationship with them.
Our secondary focus is to disciple each follower of Jesus. We want to help have a deeper relationship with God and then serve Him with the talents that they have been given!
We are commited to children, students, and families! Because of that, we are hoping to renovate of our current facility at some point to make it more family friendly.  This renovation will make our children's area larger, easier to find, and even more secure than it is already.  It will also provide a larger foyer and areas for small groups and mentoring to happen. We are excited to see how God will work and use it for His Kingdom!
