Small Group questions for 9/20/26
1 Timothy 6:1-6


(6:1-2) We don’t like this passage much. Why didn’t  Paul just say “slavey is bad, free all the slaves.”

(6:4-5) Do you know someone like this? Someone who loves to debate? How can we be on the look out for false teaching without being overly suspicious and always looking for an argument or a disagreement.  


Genesis 2:15 what does this tell us about work? Exodus 20:9-11- what does this tell us about work but also rest?


What does contentment look like in our lives? What does our culture teach about contentment? How can we learn/grow contentment?

Small Group discussion Questions 9/13/26
2 Timothy 3:13-17

1. What is your story? Who in your life  taught you about about Jesus and who has taught you the most about scripture? (2 Timothy 3:14)

2. Research shows there is a serious lack of Biblical understanding in our country, even in our churches. (Check out this link for some of the Current research https://thestateoftheology.com/ ) 2 Timothy 3:15 points out the importance of teaching God’s word to the next generation. How are you training up the next generation (your kids/grandkids/teacher/coach/youth group/children’s church/KHM) in God’s word?

3. Pastor noted that the purpose of the lighting rod is to “take the hit to protect the barn.” How can we “take the hit” to Protect our families? Our community? Our church?

4. Pastor made the Statement “ you don’t have to clean yourself up to come to God, but after you are forgiven its time to clean yourself up.” How do we stop sinning? What are some strategies to help us stop sinning? What are the good things we should be doing? (James 4:17).
